woooo! [link] Its Kilt day, In honor of that event I submit my Scottish Jacobite Highlander!
The link features a historical overview of the Kilt but its a wee bit flawed, contrary to what they state the Kilt and Gaelic tartan VASTLY predates the 700 years of its supposed existence, Its been said that tartans were created for simple convenience or because of the design of the looms used in their creation however a design very similar to clan tartan was found on a 2000 plus year old corpse! Unfortunately it’s only been within the last few hundred years that tartan/clan ownership has been recorded so there are all sorts of theories some of them quite malevolent towards Gaelic culture and others that just don’t do our race justice. I used a reference photo for this picture but I cant seem to find it. Ill link to it when I do! *TribeOfCelts has permission to repost this in our club gallery. |
