Description
The Gaesatae were Celtic mercenaries from northern Italy and the pan alpine region. They, like the Fianna of Ireland, appear to have been a supranational band of soldiers that didn't necessarily have a country of their own, instead, electing nominal kings and finding service in whatever country that would have them. Fighting without Armour and relying on chemical rage these soldiers and groups identical to them found service from 3rd century BC Italy, to 6th century AD Ireland to 1st century AD Turkey. With off shots including the more famous Berserkergang of medieval Scandinavia.

This is one of the paintings I made last semester in my Advanced painting class, the photos not perfect but it'll be a while before I can get a better one with reduced glare so bare with it.
